Kolam Earth, concept render

The concept
Across South India, kolam patterns are drawn at the threshold each morning: temporary geometries of welcome, rhythm, and care. Kolam Earth turns that daily ritual into a lasting object.
What makes it
Hour markers rendered in classical Tamil script, bringing an ancient numeric tradition into everyday legibility on the wrist.
The central dial carries a hand-translated kolam, with interlocking curves and dots treated as the central artwork.
Fired terracotta tones across the dial and indices, paired with an aged bronze case and deep leather strap.
A deliberate numbered first run: one hundred pieces, no open-ended production, and first access for list members.
Behind the brand
Padraj is named for my parents, Padmini and Rajagopal, a small tribute to lineage, home, and the hands that shape us.
Target specification
These are working targets, not final production specs. Everything shown here will be refined through prototype validation.
Final specifications subject to prototype refinement. Target specs reflect current design intent and may change.

First 100
We're testing demand for a first 100-piece run. Join the list to follow the build and get first access when reservations open.
A refundable €50 reservation deposit may open after prototype validation. No commitment required to join.
Questions
Not yet. Padraj is in the pre-production phase. Joining the list puts you first in line when reservations open, with no payment required at this stage.
We don't have a confirmed shipping date yet. We're moving carefully through design and prototype validation before committing to a timeline.
The concept is set. Dial execution, case dimensions, and strap hardware will be refined through prototyping, and we'll share the process openly.
Pricing will be determined after prototype completion. The goal is a price point that reflects the craft and edition size without unnecessary premium.
If a reservation deposit opens and production does not proceed, all deposits will be refunded in full. Joining the waitlist has no financial commitment.
We're exploring production partners who can honour the craft standards this watch demands, ideally with artisanal involvement at the dial and strap stage.
